The Blessing of the Fleet brings together locals and visitors to honor the island’s seafaring vessels, from ferries and water taxis to rescue boats and helicopters. Clergy from the island’s churches perform the blessing, a ritual meant to safeguard the fleet, crew and passengers for the year ahead.
This event is perfect for families and visitors of all ages. Grab a cup of coffee or hot chocolate, enjoy some cookies on the dock and take in the variety of boats that make up the Lake Erie Islands fleet. Afterward, spend the day exploring everything Put-in-Bay has to offer!
